Dit vervloei aan die lug. Dit is baie toksies deur oop wonde of deur inname. Dit kan effens na bitter amandels ruik en word gebruik vir silwer- en goudekstraksie. Ander aanwendings is in chemiese ontleding en as grondstof vir ander chemikalieë.^[1]
